2013 Sheen Family Reunion in Round Rock, TX

I don't know where to begin!  We were gone 4 days to Texas for the 2nd Annual Rich and Donna Sheen family reunion in Round Rock, and it was amazing.

Here was our "itinerary", with my commentary in italics:

Amy's sister-in-law took family photos for us on Thursday morning.  I loved the red, white, and blue generational theme--good job, Logan!

Sheen Reunion 2013—Round Rock, TX
Let’s make some memories! J

Note:  Logan and Amy will have light breakfasts served at their house each morning for those interested.

Wednesday, July 3rd:

5-6pm
Dinner at Logan and Amy’s (assigned to Jason and Verity)  (we did Papa John's--tasty.  I also had a lot of fun grocery shopping with Chris, Amy, and the rest of Round Rock at a local H-E-B!)

5-8pm
Catch up, board games, etc.

Thursday, July 4th:

8-9a
Family Photo Shoot, meet at Logan and Amy’s first  (Amy's sister-in-law Amanda took the pictures and they turned out AMAZING!  Great job, Logan, on coordinating and buying t-shirts)

10a-12p
Flag Ceremony + Rocket Making/Launching  (When we sat down on Friday to recap, "Rockets" was the most repeated answer to 'what's been your favorite activity so far?'  It was super fun!)

12p-1p
Lunch at Logan and Amy’s (assigned to Derrick and Traci)  (Taco Bar was YUM-YUM)

1:30p-4p
Swimming at Neighborhood Pool—don’t forget sunscreen! J

5p-6p
Dinner at Logan and Amy’s (assigned to Brant and Chris) (this was a highlight, for sure.  Brant and Chris actually brought Chicago hot dog buns with them on the airplane, then proceeded to dish out their meal to everyone using these thick Chicago accents.  It was HILARIOUS!)

6p-8p
Movie—Monster’s University (time is tentative)  (thanks, Mom and Dad!)

8p-10p
Fireworks, hopefully at Logan and Amy’s  (there was, ahem, a little drama when a guy came by and shut down our fireworks party.  Well, that, and the bum fireworks that exploded right above Logan's head.  We all took that as a sign that our show was over.  I think we got lucky!)

Friday, July 5th:

7a-10a
Family Fun Run followed by Splash Pad, at "North Park"  (donuts and juice after Fun Run, but get light breakfast beforehand if you need it)  (this was WAY more fun than I expected.  Congrats, Jason, Derrick, Tom, and Logan, on completing a 5k in the heat, and, thank you, Amy for picking up some tasty donuts!)

10:30a-12:30p
Back at Logan and Amy’s: Family Home Evening lesson by Traci, then Talent Show (Traci did a fantastic job giving a brief family home evening lesson on the plan of salvation, and then we had an epically awesome talent show following.  I was also very pleased with the family meeting we had at the end to discuss the next reunion.  It was pretty open, there was lots of civil and respectful discussion, and then we voted.  Chicago in 2015, folks!)

12p-1p
Lunch at Logan and Amy’s (assigned to Tom and Lydia), (there was SO MUCH FOOD leftover that we ate that for lunch instead.  Thanks for understanding, Tom and Lyd!  We'll let you go first next time! :))

1:30p-3:
Story of Texas Museum @ Bob Bullock Museum in Austin, TX  (Thanks, Mom and Dad!)  (This was fun and unique, and it had good air conditioning, ha-ha!)

5:00p-6:00p
Dinner at Austin Food Trucks (thanks, Mom and Dad!)  SOOOOO GOOD!
(every family will get $$ in an envelope to use for dinner or whatever they choose)

(We simply ran out of time and energy to do the Capital Building and bat-watching, but I think we were all okay with that! )

 Saturday, July 6th:

10a-11a
Collin’s Baptism  (Round Rock Stake Center, 8140 Racine Trail, Austin, TX)  (Congrats, Collin!  It was really neat to be there for this!)

11a-11:30a
Will’s Blessing  (same place)  (Ditto!  So glad we could see this!)

12p-1p
Lunch at Logan and Amy’s (provided by Logan and Amy(pulled pork sandwiches--delish!)

1:30p-4p
Bowling at Mel’s

4p-7p
Swimming at Neighborhood Pool, Gattiland Pizza & Arcade for Dinner (provided by Mom & Dad)

MANY, MANY THANKS TO THE ROUND ROCK SHEENS FOR OPENING THEIR HOME         TO US THIS WEEKEND!   WE ARE VERY GRATEFUL!
THANKS FOR COMING, EVERYONE!  SEE YOU IN 2015!

We definitely missed Jordan and Amelia and their family this weekend.  Hopefully they can join us at the next reunion!

There were lots of great candid pictures taken.  I'll try and get some of them on here later.  For now, enjoy these goodies!  I love how they turned out!
