New family members!

New family members coming in a couple weeks!!!  We've had our Kenmore set for about 15 years, and they've been great.  However, the dryer was rusting out and leaving stains on our clothes--not fun.  These new machines will be AWESOME!!!  So thankful and grateful!

The kids' bedrooms get a new look!

We were so happy to have Jason take off the entire 2-week Christmas break to be home with us.

One of the BIG things he wanted to do was paint the kids' rooms.  Rhiannon and Wade worked hard to get their rooms emptied, picked paint colors, helped tape down the carpet, painted baseboards, and were on hand to help with whatever Jason wanted them to do.  I vacuumed and helped tape.  And Jason did the rest!  He did a fantastic job, and the kids are VERY happy with their rooms.  Two walls were an accent color, and then the ceiling, door, and other two walls are this brilliant white.

After being in this beautiful home for 5 years, I think the kids finally feel full ownership of their space, haha!  Thanks to Daddy for giving his time during vacation to work so hard on this!

A big change this week!

This week we are getting our 36-year-old air conditioning system replaced.  We are all happy, happy, happy about this!!!

This morning High Desert Air Ductor guys showed up and immediately got to work.  Then a crane truck arrived and they carefully took off the old units and positioned the new ones.  So far so good.  Of course the day we get this done, it starts POURING rain on the poor guys in the middle of the job.  Have I ever mentioned the times it rains in Ridgecrest?  FEW AND FAR BETWEEN, folks.  Ha-ha, oh well, the workers are off taking a well-deserved, early lunch break until the rain stops.

New windows!

And in with the new!  We think they look amazing!

The "waterfall windows" were pretty tricky--they had to be installed from inside the house! 

Kudos to Rhiannon and Wade for dealing with all the distractions gracefully.  They managed to entertain themselves this morning by making mummies out of....eachother!  I had to get a picture of that--they were having a pretty good time wrapping the other person up!
