Rhiannon had an amazing time last night at a youth activity--a stake dance and etiquette dinner. She'd been looking forward to it all week and it did NOT disappoint! She said there was a fantastic turnout (over 50 youth--almost 20 more than they usually get), the dinner was fun, and the dance was amazing. The "etiquette" focus was more on what to do on a date, etc, and she said that was cool. We're so glad she had a great time!

Cute in braces!
Monday was a busy day for this sweet girl! I picked her up from school during lunch time and took her to the orthodontist's office, where she sat, tortured in a chair for an hour, to get braces. She was such a good sport about it all--we took lots of goofy pictures and somehow, magically, she still looked gorgeous. After a week she is eating more than pudding, yogurt, and Jell-O, but she says her front teeth are still pretty tender. Here's to a year or more of braces-fun! We love this girl and her bubbly spirit!
About a month and a half ago, Rhiannon showed me her left foot. She said it was painful and noticed a big bunion at the base of her big toe. We took her into a podiatrist, thinking he'd order some night splints or something, but he said her bunion was pretty severe and would eventually need to be surgically repaired. After getting x-rays and finding out she's still growing, he said orthotics in her shoes would help to slow the bunion growth down until she could have surgery. He also wrote a doctor's note for school, ordering her to stop running until the orthotics came in. (Her PE coach has been great about it! She's walked a lot, haha!)
So... the day she got braces, she also got orthotics for her feet! She was a great sport about it all!!! What a trooper!
