Rhiannon did a fantastic job on her history project this year--check it out!
She free-handed it--I think she did an amazing job. She even looked on Youtube for a video to learn how to draw Uncle Sam's pointing finger!
Initially her project was going to be on cotton fields and plantations. Her US History class had been learning about the economics of that. I wish I'd been more aware that this wasn't the best idea, but I was excited to see how she recreated the fields of cotton and wasn't even thinking about the issue of slavery. That was the last thing on our minds--we were just focused on those dumb cotton plants! Well, luckily Jason chimed in and encouraged Rhiannon to change her project idea, and her teacher Mrs Abshire okayed it. We are very proud of her for being able to adjust in such a short amount of time and put together a really nice poster! Way to go, Rhiannon!
