Cool ties and one rockin' dress

This morning I got a text from Pa Sheen, kindly reminding me that I hadn't blogged since November 12th.  I think the Force is trying to help motivate me to catch up, because Rhiannon and I were just talking about journaling yesterday.  Rhiannon is a phenomenal journal keeper and writes faithfully every night.  (She is excited to use some new journals she got for Christmas!)  Most of our family's comings and goings lately have been on Facebook--I can do better in this area and keep this family blog up to date!

There are so many things to catch up on, in particular our amazing Utah trip for Thanksgiving, our first family temple trip to do baptisms together, the kids surviving finals, and all of the Christmas fun we've been enjoying.  But for now, I'll write about today!

This morning was our last day of 9:00 am church for a while.  We're sad, but we'll power through 2016 just fine.  The boys sported their new Star Wars ties and Rhiannon looked absolutely lovely in her new dress!

I personally needed and appreciated every single talk and lesson today.  Bailey Hannafin, Amy McFarlane, and Bishop Washburn gave amazing messages on goals.  DeAnne Bell gave a perfect lesson from Revelations and how we get through these tumultuous times by replacing fear with faith, preparation, and hope.  Then in Relief Society Cathi Judd used Elder Oaks' talk on the strengthening power of the Atonement.  Cathi has a gift of being real and helping us all to feel that we are among friends and can share things from the heart and soul.  She is a powerful teacher--I sent her an email as soon as I got home, thanking her for her message.

Wade kinda forgot he was teaching in Deacons quorum today, but his advisor Brother Wright helped him out by letting him use his phone.  We had a good talk about preparing in advance on the drive home.

Life is good!  We are so excited for one more week of Christmas vacation!
