Jason and I celebrated a quiet 19th wedding anniversary on Monday, with plans to go out to a fancy dinner tomorrow night. I made some Hungarian-inspired cabbage rolls for dinner that turned out pretty yummy! And Jason gave me an iPad, his old one, haha! I don't know what to do with all these electronic devices he keeps giving me, but I am grateful!
Next year will be our big 20th. It will be fun to see what we do. I doubt we'll recreate our once-in-a-lifetime central Europe trip that we did for our 10th, but I know we'll do something cool!
When I was 12 or 13, I wrote on a little index card a list of all the things I was looking for in a future husband. Hard-working, handsome, "good with kids," faithful, kind, and many other qualities made the list. It was a pretty thorough list, haha!! A few years after Jason and I were married, I came across the card while I was going through boxes and smiled--he met every. single. item. I love this man so much--every year gets better!!!
Happy 19th Anniversary, babe! I love you!

18th Anniversary!
Our 18th anniversary on May 16 this year was a busy day. Jason was in a golf tournament in the morning, and we hosted a large baptism for 3 Primary kids that afternoon. As soon as the closing prayer ended, I didn't talk to anyone, just quietly raced upstairs to get ready for my anniversary date with Jason! We sped away to Inyokern and had a perfect, quiet dinner of yummy Mexican food out at Bernardino's. It was great to daydream about our 20th coming up!
I love this man. He works soooooo hard to support our family and provide for us. He's full of surprises. He's funny, generous, kind, and patient. He helps me to be my best!
Love you, babe!!!!

Sweet 17!
Jason and I celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary in May! He got home in the morning from a work trip on our anniversary and took the rest of the day off to spend with his happy wife! We also had a wonderful dinner at a local Mexican place called Olvera's. Yummy!
Probably one of the funniest things was posting a couple pictures of us on Facebook and getting quite the response on them! Aren't we cute? :)

Just for fun
Last Thursday Jason and I celebrated our 16th anniversary on May 16th! Woo-hoo! We went out to dinner the next night to the Red Bowl (yummy Asian food), and then we hurried home to pick up Wade so he could join us for Iron Man 3. Rhiannon was going to see it the following afternoon for her friend Emma's birthday party, and I just did not have the heart to leave Wade out. I mean, the kid has wanted to see Iron Man 3 for 6 months!
So we were in the movie theater, and the movie was AWESOME, but I felt a little weird having Wade there. Every time something cool happened in the movie I'd lean over to Wade and say something, or he'd do the same to me, and, um, it was like I was on a date with my son instead of my super handsome hubby, ya know?
Wade was hilarious, though--the next day he said, "Hey, Mom! Maybe next year for your anniversary date we can go see Amazing Spider-Man 2!" I had to let him down gently that this probably wasn't the best idea. :)
Another funny thing happened tonight. We had Elder Hanson and Elder Amadi, our full-time church missionaries, over for a taco dinner. After dinner I asked if they'd like some chocolate chip cookies for dessert, and Elder Amadi said, "Oh, I'm sorry, I'm going to have to pass because I'm doing P90X." Jason lit up and for the next 10 minutes they talked about the program Jason's been doing for 3 weeks now, and he showed the elders some of his gear, etc. It was really fun!
Right now I'm hoping Rhiannon is on her way home safely from her Disneyland band trip. She won't be home til 11:30pm or so, and it's SUPER WINDY outside. I'm trying not to worry about her and keep myself occupied by updating this blog! :)
School ends next week--YAY!!!!!!!!!
